Description
APC XC0092 3 Channel Under Track, 22′- 0″
The APC XC0092 3-Channel Under Track is a heavy-duty, precision-manufactured aluminum track designed specifically for use in in-ground pool cover systems that utilize an under-track configuration. In an under-track system, the track is installed beneath the deck or concrete surface, allowing the cover’s roller tube and guides to operate from below the deck surface, which maintains a clean deckline and minimal visual intrusion.
This particular model features three parallel channels, thereby allowing three separate guide tracks or possibly composite belt/rope systems to operate in the same footprint. The designation “3-Channel” means that the track extrudes with three distinct guide paths. This is ideal for more complex or wide pool cover systems, or where additional guiding redundancy or multiple cover belts are required.
The length is specified at 22 feet-0 inches (i.e., 22′-0″), making it suitable for installations where the track run, from one end of the pool cover system to the other, spans approximately 22 feet. The length may be intended for one side of the pool or section of the pool perimeter, depending on system design and layout. The unit is offered as a “direct replacement for APC part # XC0092” according to one vendor.
Manufactured by the firm APC (which specializes in pool cover hardware, tracks and accessories), the XC0092 track is made from extruded aluminum (based on specification charts for similar tracks by APC). For example, the specification sheet for “Under Track (3 Channel) – Track XC-0092 and XC-1130 (drilled)” lists it under “Under Track Components.”
The extruded aluminum offers excellent resistance to corrosion (which is critical in pool environments with water, chemicals, chlorination, etc), and strong structural rigidity so the track remains straight, keeps the cover movement smooth, and maintains alignment of the pulleys, guides, and belt system.
The “under-track” configuration also typically means that the track is designed to be embedded beneath the pool deck and bolted or anchored into a concrete beam, block, or substrate. The “drilled” variation referenced in the specification sheet suggests that the track may come pre-drilled for anchor bolts or fasteners, simplifying installation.
The three channels allow the system designer to route multiple cover lines, pulleys, or guides—perhaps one channel for the cover belt, second channel for an auxiliary belt or rope, and perhaps the third channel for a safety cover or secondary cover. This versatility makes it suitable for higher-end automatic pool covers, safety covers, or custom installations that demand more than a single channel track.
Automatic Pool Covers, Inc. took its first steps into the industry in 1979 as a small pool cover distributor. They continued to grow exponentially into the millennium, becoming a leader of the cover distributor industry. As continued to grow, they began to use their vast knowledge of the industry to develop and experiment with their own designs with the hope of making the most efficient, convenient and sturdy product.
