Temperature sensing devices provide temperature measurement and signals for monitoring or control. The most common sensing methods include thermocouples and resistance temperature devices (RTD). Thermocouples consist of two dissimilar metal wires joined at a hot junction, generating millivolt signals as temperature changes. RTDs measure the change in resistance as the temperature of the metal changes.
