The CMP axle with sand/gravel guard is only used on the front wheels of the Polaris 280 and 180 cleaners.They are for preventing sand, gravel, and other small debris from jamming the turbine drive shaft and wheels.

CMP 25563-660-400 White Sand/Gravel Guard Cleaner Axle Features:

• Remove the top cover. First, remove screw and washer to remove wheel.
• Next, remove the axle screws and axle plate to detach the axle that needs to be replaced.
• Polaris 180 only: be sure to retain the two nuts from beneath the frame when removing the axle screws
• Dispose of the old cleaner axle. Do not dispose of any hardward,including axle plate, screws star washers, or nut
• Place the new CMP axle guard in position. The offset portion should point towards the back (tail side) of the cleaner.
• Use the notch in the axle to allow the guard to fit around the turbine shaft.
• Reattach the wheel using the two axle screws, star washers and axle plate. The axle plate should be smooth side up. (Polaris 180 only: use the two nuts retained in Step 2 to install)
• 7. Once the proper adjustment has been confirmed, reassemble the rest of the cleaner.
